NSMS’ Youth Department is committed to youth engagement and
providing valuable opportunities for young immigrants to connect to
their community. NSMS youth programs work with new immigrant youth
on settlement related issues, community bridging and anti-racism and
diversity issues.
Get Connected Program
An eight-week program and/or one-to-one coaching that assists
newcomer youth and young adults in their transition into Canadian
life. Program participants gain knowledge and experience in:

Integr8 and Activ8
NSMS works in partnership with North Vancouver School District to
deliver Integr8 and Activ8 – two programs that address settlement
related issues for newcomer youth.

Neonology: A brighter perspective
Neonology is a North Shore wide project that engages youth to
actively participate in creating an inclusive and welcoming North
Shore community for all youth.
Neonology is primarily an anti-racism initiative and supports
youth, parents and teachers to create safe and respectful
environments. This program offers:

Youth leadership training and opportunities to develop
Neonology initiatives in schools

Web based environments for youth to support to explore their
ideas and role in creating racism-free and inclusive
environments

Immigrant Family Bridging Project
This program provides youth with opportunities to explore their
settlement process in terms of family communication. Youth develop
relationship and leadership skills.
